GRACE’s Telecommunications Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Program prepares trainees for entry into the Independent Electrical Contractors (IECs) 3-Year Earn-While –You Learn Telecommunications Technician Apprenticeship Program.

IEC’s programs are taught at a state-of-the-art training facility by committed, knowledgeable instructors using an interactive format that offers opportunities for mentorship as well as learning.  Participants in IEC’s Apprenticeship Programs work full-time during the day in the electrical construction industry and attend apprenticeship program classes two evenings per week.

GRACE prepares trainees who would have difficulty meeting IEC’s entrance requirements to meet ALL of the entry requirements.  We help trainees become both apprenticeship program and employer ready.  Once a GRACE graduate applies to and gets accepted into the telecommunications technician apprenticeship program, IEC also provides them with a direct link to employers.

Our integrated service delivery model includes academic enrichment classes to empower trainees to pass IEC’s math and reading assessments, career services which includes Individual Career Plans, resume clinics, mock interviews and a host of other employment-ready services, evidence-based life skills training including financial wellness, trade skills training delivered by skilled industry professionals, and supportive and wrap-around services that ensure that the basic needs of trainees are met.  GRACE delivers these services through a strong network of partners at the federal, state and local lever, through community-based organizations and similarly minded individuals.

Additionally, Trainees also receive their OSHA 10 Construction and First Aid Certifications.
